When Wine Lovers Unite (OperaWine 2016) #Verona

Cheers to a wonderful day wine lovers!
Saturday April 9th was the anticipated OperaWine (5th edition) event hosted in the Palazzo della Gran Guardia by Wine Spectator.
If you love wine and like to read about it you are probably acquainted with this magazine, but for the few of you who don't know about it "Wine Spectator is the world's leading authority on wine that reaches more than three million readers" -operawine.it
The magazine is basically a worldwide guide for wine news.

Through OperaWine, Wine Spectator chooses about a 100 wine producers that well represent the regions of Italy, that way allowing the large variety of grapes within Italy to be noticed.

So scroll down to get a little summary of the event and don't forget to press play on the last video of the blog.

Press Conference
OperaWine also serves in uniting Italian wine lovers around the world that want to spread the word on the unique features that Italian wine contains that makes its composition stand out from wines of other countries around the world. During the press conference the message that I always try to give collectors and young wine consumers was highlighted. Besides the fact that Italian wines benefit from having such rich variety of grapes, another advantage it has is the flexibility of being able to age as well as being ready to drink. This kind of flexibility allows young wine consumers and the older collectors to meet in the middle and enjoy both of the wine's benefits.

If you want to have more information on the Italian wine regions included go to www.operawine.it/wineregions2016

Press play to see Sting perform at the press conference.

A big thank you to Thomas Matthews and Stevie Kim for organizing such a wonderful wine event and of course the wine producers that made this day extra special.

So every great day has to come to an end, but of course, not before having a fantastic dinner at Tre Marchetti, which I'm still dreaming about. You really can't go wrong with Italian food AND WINE!
And with that being said I will end my blog.
But this is just the beginning! I will keep you updated on the many more wine labels you should keep an eye on, plus interviews in Vinitaly with some of the top Italian wine producers.

By the way, there are some great wine labels that I have purposely not posted on this blog because I will give certain wine producers an interview where I will further discuss their new releases on the Vinitaly blog coming up Thursday.

So follow me on social media where I will post snippets of the fair before the blog and if you have any questions or comments regarding the wine labels you can contact me through my website.
