James Suckling & Zachys wine event NOBLE B': BRUNELLO, BARBARESCO ANDBAROLO TASTING

               Hey #WINELOVERS!
This wine event happened in #NewYork at the City Winery on Tuesday May 6th! The great thing about this wine event is that the wines exhibited were all premium wines. It definitely showcased the top italian wine producers! All of the wines featured were graded 90 points and above by James Suckling.

Most of the Barolos were great, but the ones below grabbed my attention:

(with Simone Ortale [Agronomist] of Casina Adelaide)                                            He displayed 3 Barolos: Cannubi 2010, Pernano 2010, and Fossati 2010.         My favorite was Cannubi 2010 (shown in the picture above).

 Amazing producer!
Roberto Voerzio presented 2 Barolos: Fossati Case Nere reserva 10 Anni 2004, and Vecchie Vite Dei Capalot e Delle Brunate Riserva 2007. My favorite was Fossati Case Nere Reserva 10 Anni 2004!

The amazing wine producer Bruno Giacosa and his daughter Bruna, featured 2 Barolos and 1 Barbaresco. Barbaresco Albesani Santo Stefano 2011, Barolo Le Rocche del Falleto 2009, and Barolo Le Rocche del Falletto Riserva 2007. The three were marvelous!

With Anna Abbona (picture on the right) and Valentina Abbona (picture on bottom left). What a great duo, mom and daughter! From Marquesi di Barolo.                                                                 They presented 3 Barolos: Cannubi 2008, Sarmassa 2007, and Riserva 1990.     The latter was my favorite!

The Boffa family displayed 3 well-structured Barolos. Barolo 2010, Barolo Ornato 2009, and Barolo 2004. My favorite was the Barolo 2004!

Great wines from Paolo, Mario, and Guido Damilano. They brought 3 Barolos: Cannubi 2009, Cannubi 2008, and Liste 2008.  My favorite was Cannubi 2008 (shown in the picture above).

AND

- La Spinetta
Giorgio Rivetti is known for doing amazing Barbarescos, Barberas, and other red wines. Now, he is also making Barolos. He presented Barolo Vigneto Campe 2010, Barolo Vigneto Garreti 2010, and Barbaresco Vigneto Starderi 2010. My favorite was his Barbaresco!

Below, are some of the great wines and Brunello wine producers at the event:

 (Ciacci Piccolomini)
My favorite of the three: Brunello di Montalcino Pianrosso Catareina d'Oro Riserva 2007

Katia Nussbaum has some amazing organic wines!! San Polino displayed 3 Brunellos. Brunello di Montalcino 2009, 2008, and 2007. Katia also brought a great bottle that was not listed, the 2006. My favorite was the 2007 vintage.

Campo del Drago 1999 (Castiglion del Bosco). This wine brought by Massimo Ferragamo was a great addition! It is a very unique and special bottle. The dragon on the bottle is actually carved!

What a great producer! Casanova di Neri featured two Brunellos.              My favorite of the two was Brunello di Montalcino Tenuta Nuova 2008

(Marchesi di Frescobaldi) He brought two Brunellos, and the one that I liked the most was the 2009 vintage.
Siro Panceti exhibited 3 Brunellos di Montalcino: 2009, 2008, and Riserva 2007 (shown in the picture above). My favorite was Riserva 2007!

(Canalicchio Di Sopra)                                                                                          Featured 3 great Brunellos, but the Riserva 2006 was my favorite!

Vinitaly! 2014

Hey #winelovers!
Sadly, the fair is over for me, but my trip in Italy has just started! I truly recommend this fair, not just for the social drinkers, but for the people that want to do business with italian wines. Vinitaly will offer you the opportunity to get to know the wine producers better and get acquainted with their variety of wines. For the social drinkers, Vinitaly is a great fair to go because it will allow you to taste a great selection of wines, and expand your palate by tasting the same grape from different wine producers.

I've been having some great meetings in Vinitaly, which I'm going to give more details on a few days. Below I have put a little sneak peek from some of my meetings ;)

Bye Bye Verona!

I had a wonderful time in Vinitaly but now I'm on my way to Montalcino! I'm very excited to see all the beautiful vineyards there, and the amazing restaurants that Montalcino offers.    :)

#Cheers! #CinCin!

#CinCin from Verona... Day 1

Hey #winelovers!
Today I had  a wonderful day sightseeing and relaxing in Verona. On the left, I'm enjoying a glass of Soave in Piazza Bra with the view of the Arena.

Walking in Verona, it is easy to be in a state of awe from all the beautiful architecture and churches (shown below) that surround the city.

In the afternoon, I enjoyed a delicious lunch in Piazza delle Erbe. This piazza is only a few minutes of away from Piazza Bra, and a great place for having lunch or just people watching with a glass of wine! ;)

Verona is known as a romantic city because of the story of Romeo and Juliet. On the bottom-left there is a picture of Juliet's balcony, where couples recite verses from Shakespeare's play.

#Cheers
